Emilie V. Parker - Sculptor & Painter
Emilie Parker works long hours in her clay art studio almost every day. Using clay mined in the United States and made in Denver, she performs the wizardry of converting earth, air, fire, and water into romantic hand built one of a kind pieces sculpted with an artistry that is both dynamic and visionary.
Drawing from harmonious universal patterns found in the land, the cosmos, and all living beings, she builds upon the natural world around her to breathe life into her art.
Emilie Parker’s passion for art imbues everything she does with magic and joy. Growing up in Sierra Madre in the California foothills, visions of plants, mountains, and peacocks danced in her head and return again and again as muses in her work today.
Inspired by Picasso’s figurative work and prolific creativity and Van Gogh’s application of paint and interesting perspective, Emilie also soaks up energy from the vibrant Colorado artists’ community in which she lives, works, and teaches ceramic arts and acrylic painting to adults and children.
"My sculpture revolves around themes related to revitalization of life. I study intuitive art, art therapy, sacred geometry, human anatomy, and spiritual and cultural symbols. Then I make art for hours and hours every day".
Emilie’s talents reach far beyond her personal artwork. As she explains, “I love building communities and tribes of artists working together. I’m presently organizing an artists’ cohousing project where artists can live and work cooperatively. I’m president of The Louisville Art Association, which now has more than 200 members and sponsors many events throughout the year, and I founded the Clay Art Co-op at the Art Underground in Louisville."
"I want everyone to have handmade things in their lives that they respond to emotionally—made with care, style, and resonating with originality. My mission is to make art and to guide my friends, family, and students toward creating for themselves a path to revitalization through art."
" My work is about connectedness, our love of nature, color, and art!"
